webinar
october budget
The UK luxury property market is approaching a critical turning point with one of the most anticipated Budgets in recent years. The Labour government’s “tough decisions” to address economic challenges could bring major changes in taxation, potentially affecting everything from property transactions to investor confidence. Key areas under consideration include Capital Gains Tax (CGT), non-dom status, and Stamp Duty—each with the potential to impact the flow of international investment, property availability, and the overall luxury property market landscape.
With speculation that CGT hikes could discourage sales in the high-end and super-prime market, experts warn of a potential shortage of available properties as landlords and second-home owners may retain assets to avoid higher tax burdens. Likewise, proposals to end non-dom status could prompt international buyers, a core driver of London’s prime property market, to look outside the UK. Stamp Duty adjustments, particularly for overseas buyers, may add to the cost of entry, which some say could challenge London’s position as a leading global property hub. Not to mention the increasing pressures on the UK construction industry to deliver developments with tighter deadlines and increasing costs of materials and labour.
Join us for this exclusive webinar, chaired by Priya Rawal, Founder of The Luxury Property Forum, where our expert panel will explore:
The impact on both domestic and international ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Expected changes in the construction industry and the landscape for super-prime developments.
Legal and financial shifts and what they mean for the luxury property sector.
How taxation reforms might affect buying and selling high-value properties across the UK.
What this Budget signals for the future of the luxury property market—will the sector remain resilient?
