Best of British Craftspeople and Artisans - Aiveen Daly
In advance of the U.K. leaving the E.U. The Luxury Property Forum (in partnership with Hillhouse interiors) spoke to expert craftsmen and artisans working in the luxury property sector.
We asked them what meant to be British and what impact Brexit would have on their business.
Over the next few weeks we will be showcasing their work, expertise and unique insights
Aiveen Daly
Aiveen Daly runs a London-based textile artistry studio working alongside elite interior designers and architects across the globe. Superlative craftsmanship and luxurious materials are at the heart of everything Aiveen creates. Her work is both exquisitely tactile and highly technical, rethinking heritage techniques to create modern heirlooms.
Sumptuous silks and butter-soft leathers are combined with textural flourishes. The respected aesthetic is elegant and quietly considered. Whether it’s couture-like cushions, sumptuously upholstered chairs or statement wall panels. Each is a piece of textile art. Anything is possible.
Since setting up 15 years ago, Aiveen has become a global authority on decorative textile artistry and fine, hand-worked embellishments. She is sought out by world-renowned interior designers and architects for her richly intricate embroidery and beading, pleating and weaving. Her creations can be found in private residences from Miami to Moscow, onboard a growing fleet of superyachts, and in a clutch of destination hotels, including the Corinthia London and The Langham Hong Kong.
Although Aiveen is Irish she has lived in London for over 20 years. Being a London based design studio is part of the heritage of the brand and is very important for her international clientele. Some of Aiveen’s first clients were British icons like Paul Smith and Liberty department store.
‘British makers have long had a great international reputation for marrying high creativity with craftsmanship. Sustainability is also increasingly important. Designers want the reassurance of commissioning bespoke items from local makers rather than buying mass produced items’.
‘Brexit is a challenge certainly but we’ve always had a global outlook and strong international clientele. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with our top designers and partners in France, Germany and Italy as well as making some new friends further afield.' - Aiveen Daly
