Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?

The property industry in general is very male dominated. Having a day that celebrates women and shows young girls that women can be whatever they want and do anything without limitations is important.

Have you faced any challenges in your career as a woman and if so, how did you overcome them?

I think I always felt that the top roles (be that partnership, CEO, MD level positions) in companies I was working at in my early career were never going to be within my reach, but it never stopped me. It spurred me on. I always knew that one day I would run my own business.

Is there another woman on whom you would like to shine a light, in the luxury property industry and why?

Becky Fatemi – Queen! She’s amazing and I have known Becky right from my early days when we were both working at Foxtons. She was always the one to beat. Number one. She’s a trailblazer and serial entrepreneur and I love what she is doing with her charity work, and her business – employing an all-female team.

How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in the luxury property industry?

By telling our stories to inspire the next generation and creating opportunities within our own businesses.

What is the best advice you have been given?

Life isn’t a sprint – it’s a marathon. It takes time to learn your craft and develop, and learning never stops.
