Echlin secures planning permission for landmark Lansdowne Walk scheme

The LPF is delighted to feature one of its esteemed members, Echlin, as they celebrate a significant milestone in their journey of redefining luxury living. The renowned prime London developer, architectural, and interior design studio has recently secured planning permission for an extraordinary multi-unit development at Lansdowne Walk, Notting Hill, one of London’s most prestigious residential neighborhoods.

Echlin has been awarded planning permission off the back of its in-depth knowledge of design and construction, and well considered approach to the scheme. With 13 years in the prime and super prime London development and design business, Echlin has built an award-winning team of architects, interior designers, contractors and project managers with the ability to masterfully conceive and control the entire development process for each project it delivers.

The consented scheme is a joint venture partnership with Notting Hill residential development specialist Bodker & Co.

  • The Lansdowne Walk development will comprise six townhouses and two apartments, with townhouse sizes ranging from approx.5,000 to 7,000 square feet. Each townhouse will feature its own 20m deep, south-facing garden.

  • The project aims to restore the houses to their original splendour through a thoughtful approach to conservation, restoration, and extension. Enhancements will include contemporary ground-floor extensions, carefully integrated rooftop additions, and expansive new basement levels.

  • Echlin's extensive expertise in Notting Hill has heavily influenced the scheme's design, ensuring the housing mix and internal layouts are finely tuned to meet the needs of the discerning local market.

  • The homes have been crafted with a strong emphasis on sustainability and wellness, reflecting the growing demand for these priorities within the prime residential sector.

Lansdowne Walk is widely regarded as one of the best roads in Notting Hill, considered to be London’s most popular residential neighbourhood with property values consistently outperforming the Central London market.

Not only do the properties benefit from unusually large south-facing private gardens, they also come with much sought after private access to the 2-acre ‘woodland garden’ Hanover Gardens and the 13-acre Ladbroke Square with tennis courts and beautifully manicured gardens.

Lansdowne Walk and the immediate surrounding streets are relatively low built, so the views from inside looking out are uncompromised in all directions and at all levels.

Within the area Echlin is also on site with two nine-unit apartment schemes, one near Pembridge Square and one off Westbourne Grove, working on both the architecture and the interior design. The team is also underway under construction with a further two Notting Hill projects for private clients both notable townhouses, with one due to complete imminently.
