Associate Director - Construction Dispute Resolution

Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?

To appreciate the success and achievements of women in all fields and to celebrate their progress, whilst understanding the historical journey surrounding women’s rights. It is important to recognise that women are powerful and can bring about great change in all societies if given the opportunity. It is also important to create awareness of the inequalities that still exist and to be conscious of the progress still to be made in providing equality for all women.

Have you faced any challenges in your career as a woman and if so, how did you overcome them?

I have always been in further education whilst working, which combined with getting married, moving house (twice) and starting a family, was challenging! The key to holding a successful career whilst balancing family life is being extremely organised, hard-working, dedicated, and flexible. As well as the support of my family and friends, the great relationship with my employer has enabled me to excel in all aspects of my life.

How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in the luxury property industry?

Educating women on the vast opportunities and career prospects in the construction / property industry.

What is the best advice you have been given?

To always strive for your best and continue with education / personal development.
