LandAid SleepOut 2025: LPF Members Unite

LandAid SleepOut 2025: The Luxury Property Forum Members Step Up to Tackle Youth Homelessness

On 27 February 2025, property professionals from across the UK braved the freezing temperatures to take part in the LandAid SleepOut 2025—an annual event dedicated to raising vital funds to end youth homelessness. Now in its seventh year and proudly supported by Knight Frank, this year’s event saw unprecedented participation, with eight locations, hosting fundraisers determined to make a difference.

The LandAid SleepOut is a unique opportunity for professionals from the property and built environment sectors to come together in solidarity and support young people facing homelessness. To date, the SleepOut has raised over £3 million, funding projects that help hundreds of young people find safe, stable accommodation and a place to call home. However, youth homelessness remains a growing crisis—every four minutes, a young person in the UK becomes homeless, equating to nearly 136,000 young people aged 16-25 last year alone.

Uniting the Industry for a Vital Cause

Among the industry leaders stepping up for this important cause were Hunter Ops and Bloom Project Management, both members of The Luxury Property Forum (The LPF). Representing The LPF at the Westfield SleepOut, Debs Hunter and Tom Hunter (LPF LandAid Ambassador) and Yaeger Irwin joined hundreds of their peers to spend a night exposed to the elements, gaining a sobering insight into the struggles faced by many young people experiencing homelessness.

For Debs Hunter, the night was both challenging and deeply humbling:

"Tom and I took part in the LandAid SleepOut at Westfield with the huge support of the uniquely positive and motivating Yaeger from Bloom Project Management and James from Greencore, on what was without doubt the coldest night in the five years that we have had the honour of representing The LPF. It was absolutely humbling and even if only for one night, truly made you think—how would I do this every night?"

Despite the tough conditions, the experience was an important reminder of why the event matters. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, Debs and her group raised £1,500, contributing to the overall fundraising total across the UK. These funds will go directly towards providing safe housing, essential skills, and brighter futures for young people in need.

First-Hand Insight into a Pressing Issue

For Yaeger Irwin, this was his first time participating in the SleepOut, and it left a lasting impact:

"I recently learned about LandAid’s vital work through Debs’ previous involvement with them, and I felt compelled to support an event in the property industry that benefits young people. So, I joined the LandAid SleepOut 2025, embracing the challenge as a small gesture to contribute to a much larger cause. Spending the night in a car park—bundled in thermals and huddled under a cardboard box sheltering from freezing temperatures—was both uncomfortable and humbling. It provided me with a stark, albeit partial, glimpse into the harsh realities of homelessness and underscored the importance of supporting those in need."

The Bigger Picture: LandAid’s Mission to End Youth Homelessness

LandAid is dedicated to ending youth homelessness in the UK by providing homes, jobs, and skills for at-risk 16-25-year-olds. Through monetary grants and pro bono support, LandAid works with charities across the UK to ensure that young people have the foundations to build a brighter future.

During its last strategic cycle (2021-2024), LandAid raised over £10 million, creating a positive impact for thousands of young people. By 2029, the charity aims to create at least £150 million in social value, positively supporting 10,000 young people by providing secure accommodation, employment opportunities, and life skills. In addition, LandAid is committed to brokering £1 million worth of pro-bono support for charities each year and providing £4.5 million of Vodafone data to enhance digital connectivity for vulnerable young people.

Why LandAid Needs Your Support

In the UK, every four minutes, a young person becomes homeless. Many are forced to sleep in overcrowded hostels, on the sofas of people they barely know, or worse still, on the streets. Yet homelessness is not inevitable—it is a problem that can be solved with the right support and resources.

With rising rents and reductions in benefit payments, the crisis is worsening, and frontline services are struggling to keep up with demand. This is why events like the LandAid SleepOut are more important than ever, ensuring that charities and organisations can continue providing life-changing accommodation and services for young people in need.

For over 30 years, LandAid has been uniting the property industry to support projects that provide safe homes, job opportunities, and essential life skills for young people facing homelessness. The charity’s ambitious strategy aims to provide direct housing support for thousands of young people, broker pro bono industry expertise, and increase digital access through Vodafone data donations.

Making a Tangible Difference

With over 1,300 property professionals taking part in SleepOut 2025, LandAid aims to raise £1 million—a goal that will have a tangible impact on youth homelessness initiatives across the UK.

The LPF is incredibly proud of its members for their unwavering commitment to philanthropy and social impact. Events like the LandAid SleepOut demonstrate the power of the property industry to drive real change, ensuring that young people have a safe place to call home, opportunities to develop their skills, and the support they need to build a stable future.
