Introducing Eamonn Agha, Founder & Director, Huntsmore

Huntsmore is an award-winning design and project management practice based in Kensington, specialising in the renovation and restoration of period homes. We have both design and construction management expertise  - this allows us to run and oversee the entire end to end process and ensure project delivery.

What led you to your current position?

My previous career was as a headhunter in the City, recruiting investment bankers. During this role, I would buy, develop and sell properties in and around Zones 1 & 2. I have since retrained, undertaking a postgrad in Real Estate Development and becoming a Chartered Construction Manager with the CIOB. I still undertake development projects, running those alongside our design and project management business.

Describe a typical working day in your life…

It may sound cliche, but each day is very varied. I could be consulting with our in-house architecture team on the design phase of a project in the morning, followed by site visits and meetings with our construction managers on a live build project. It could be followed by meeting a new potential client at their property to understand their aspirations for their project and how we could potentially assist.

Are you currently working on any exciting projects?

Yes very much so, both in the design and build. We have a large Kensington townhouse that we are redesigning the interiors for, and another substantial residential home in Earl’s Court where we are applying for a roof terrace to name but a few. Construction-wise we are just about to finish the full refurbishment of a large listed apartment in Holland Park and have just finished a significant rear extension in Notting Hill.

What has been your career highlight so far?

Getting the business accredited as a Chartered Building Consultancy with the CIOB, and also as a registered interior design business with the BIID were career highlights, as it felt that the company has been recognised for its design excellence, professionalism and construction expertise.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to venture into your area of the luxury property industry?

The industry, although small, is quite varied. Look at what area interests you the most, whether that is design, product development, construction, etc and try to get as much experience in that area as possible. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people to get insights or make contacts - people will always want to meet up and coming talent!

What do you love most about the luxury property industry?

I love the tangibility of property, and the opportunity to oversee the design of  a project, and then execute that during the building process and seeing the 2D and 3D concepts come to life

What does “luxury” mean to you?

Quality and excellence are the words that come to mind when considering ‘luxury’
