LandAid - A Christmas Appeal
At The Luxury Property Forum we take pride in leading by example. As an industry which works with some of the wealthiest in society we have a responsibility make a positive social impact on the communities in which we work. The Luxury Property Forum is a proud supporter of LandAid, the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. LandAid brings together property industry businesses and individuals to support charities delivering life-changing projects for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness.
This year, around 86,000 young people in the UK will be homeless. But what does that really mean?
Homelessness is more than just sleeping on the streets. While this can be the most dangerous, and most visible, form of homelessness, it is just the tip of the iceberg.
Homelessness means not having a place to call home – a place that is private, secure, decent and affordable and where you have a right to stay. Simply having a roof over your head is not enough, as Natalie's story shows. If it is unsafe for you to stay where you are, if you cannot afford to live there or you are forced to constantly move, you can still be considered homeless.
For many young people this is a dangerous reality. Welfare reforms and a worsening housing crisis have increasingly taken away young people’s options. So many of the young people are trapped in a cycle of homelessness, moving from sofa to sofa, not knowing where they will sleep that night.
In lieu of Christmas gifts for our members this year The Luxury Property Forum has made a donation to
LandAid and will be working closely with them to raise much needed funds to provide life changing services.
A Christmas appeal - from landaid and the lpf
This year, the young and homeless have been more isolated than ever. For many, this Christmas may be a difficult time. Many may not be able to see friends and family and will feel continue to feel alone. But together with LandAid, the property industry charity, we can change this. Supporting its Christmas appeal will give young and homeless people the Christmas they deserve, supporting those who need it most through the winter.
Each year LandAid gives out over £2m in grants to fund accommodation for young homeless people – with Covid this is needed more than ever. Together we can end youth homelessness.
Donating just a small amount will help give young and homeless people the Christmas they deserve. We would love all of our members to support this essential campaign.

£29 could provide kitchen essentials, so young homeless people are able to cook hot and nutritious meals this winter
Option 3
£50 can give a young person a session with a mental health advocate to help with social isolation, exacerbated by COVID this Christmas
Option 4
£164 could bring someone in from the cold this winter and pay for a month’s stay in a project where we have created a bed space
