This week, LPF Founder Priya Rawal had the pleasure of speaking with Charu Gandhi, founder of luxury interior design studio Elicyon, as the studio celebrates its 10th anniversary. In this interview, Charu reflects on Elicyon’s journey, discusses the role of innovation, and shares her vision for the future.
London-based luxury interior design studio Elicyon celebrates its 10th anniversary this summer. Over the past decade, the studio has completed more than 90 projects across 15 countries including the UK, Saudi Arabia, Monaco, India, China, UAE, and the USA. Known for its commitment to delivering world-leading design, creativity and service, Elicyon has cemented its place as a pioneer in luxury interior design.
Charu, congratulations on Elicyon’s 10th anniversary! Can you reflect on the studio’s journey over the past decade?
Thank you. It has been an incredible journey defined by a deep appreciation for our clients and their unique visions. Each project has allowed us to embark on a remarkable creative journey, driven by the passion and innovation of our amazing team.
How did the early projects shape Elicyon's approach to interior design?
Our early projects were foundational, allowing us to hone our internal processes and shape our client service. Elicyon's ethos has always been about pushing boundaries and exceeding expectations. The greatest source of inspiration has been our clients, who champion craftsmanship and embrace innovation.
Innovation seems to play a crucial role in your work. How has Elicyon embraced it through new technology?
Embracing innovation has indeed been a cornerstone of our success. While many in the industry may see advances of tools like AI as a threat, we are actively exploring the capabilities of new technologies to enhance project efficiency. While our design work remains rooted in human skill and creativity, leveraging technology helps us optimise our processes and deliver even greater value to our clients.
The Covid-19 pandemic was a significant challenge for many. How did Elicyon navigate through it?
The pandemic was unprecedented, but we remained resilient by leveraging our ability to navigate disruptions. We forged closer ties with our clients, local artisans and craftspeople, which helped us to stay connected and continue delivering high-quality work.
What does the future hold for Elicyon as you embark on the next decade?
We are excited about the future and the new opportunities that lie ahead. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional design solutions that stand the test of time. We are committed to our core values of creativity, integrity, and simplicity.
