Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?

Women across all industries are leading from a place of community rather than competition, and by celebrating these women and making them more visible we are encouraging a new era of female leadership that creates positive change in the world.

Have you faced any challenges in your career as a woman and if so, how did you overcome them?

I work largely in the realm of commercial construction which is a male dominated industry and as such I experienced a number of raised eyebrows as a young woman in the room. I learned fast to speak up, to stand assured of my experience and to hold fast to my vision, which once proven showed I was in the right place.

Is there another woman on whom you would like to shine a light, in the luxury property industry and why?

Rebecca Crawford from John Cullen Lighting Consultancy has been illuminating many of our projects — she is endlessly creative and a joy to collaborate with.

How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in the luxury property industry?

Through visibility, mentorship and access to female leadership forums where peers can come together so women know they are not alone.

What is the best advice you have been given?

Beware of other people's advice if it equates more to opinion — listen instead to your own instinct and go with your gut.

At The Luxury Property Forum we truly believe in “you cannot be what you cannot see”.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, throughout March we are shining a light on our wonderfully inspiring female members who are all leaders in luxury property. If you are an LPF Member and would like to celebrate a senior female member of the your team, please get in touch at marketing@theluxurypropertyforum.com
