Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?

For most of the last century there was very much a ceiling on what women could achieve. It’s great to remind ourselves and see the progress that we continue to make.

Have you faced any challenges in your career as a woman and if so, how did you overcome them?

I was lucky to find my passion for lighting at University and grateful not to have come across too many barriers.

Is there another woman on whom you would like to shine a light, in the luxury property industry and why?

Mandi Cleyndert –  Director at Bill Cleyndert & Company Ltd. It’s rare to find a woman leading the way in bespoke furniture and joinery.

How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in the luxury property industry?

There are so many opportunities whether in interior design, manufacturing, through to project management. It’s a diverse industry with opportunity to progress and with many female role models to learn from and aspire to.

What is the best advice you have been given?

To follow your passion and don’t give up if at first you don’t succeed.

At The Luxury Property Forum we truly believe in “you cannot be what you cannot see”.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, throughout March we are shining a light on our wonderfully inspiring female members who are all leaders in luxury property.
