Among these trailblazers and an LPF Rising Star is Jacinta Da Rocha Goulter at Maison Communications.
In the interview that follows, we delve into Jacinta’s experiences, shedding light on her journey and need to make the luxury property industry more inclusive and equitable future for the next generation of women.
Hi Jacinta, so great to have you here. Please could you tell us about your proudest career moment so far?
This is such a tricky one as I think it's sometimes it's not until you look back that you see lots of little wins add up to big ones! I love that every client and colleague I have worked with has made me proud in some way, taught me something and made my every day so incredibly varied.
Have you faced moments of doubt in your career, and how did you overcome them?
Oh my goodness, yes! I think surrounding yourself with an incredible professional support system is really important - people who understand both you and what you do. I'm so fortunate that I have that both in my incredible team at Maison Communications, and some staunch allies that I have worked with throughout my career so far. If I'm feeling stuck with something, to chat with someone who can give some perspective, a helping hand, a dose of realism or a pep talk is the very best remedy.
What do you think are the main challenges women face in the luxury property industry, and how can they be addressed?
We all know it's a very male dominated sector and women should be able to feel like their voices count equally. I've been so inspired by the women I've met working in luxury property industry and I think they do an incredible job of lifting each other up and amplifying each other - long may this continue.
Who has been your biggest supporter, and how have they empowered you?
I'm very fortunate to say that I really could not name just one. As I mentioned earlier, my Maison colleagues are a huge support (I am so grateful for the inspiration and guidance that founders Tania Thomas and Henrietta Harwood-Smith give me every day), and I have a wonderful alumni of cross-sector PR colleagues who are a font of knowledge, creativity and friendship. They empower me to take opportunities, think in different ways, and help to find a path through tough situations.
Reflecting on your journey, what advice would you give to young women starting their careers?
Collaboration is key: create connections wherever you can, take every coffee meeting, as you never know where it might lead, now or in the future.
Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future?
To create more opportunities for the businesses I work with to grow and be recognised for the fabulous work they do, and to continue to make connections and friends with people who are a source of daily inspiration.
