In an industry rife with gender disparities, The LPF is committed to positive change, empowering women and making the industry better for the next generation. In celebration of International Women’s Month, The LPF is shining a spotlight on our rising female stars, recognising their talent and potential while addressing systemic challenges for women in the industry. Among these trailblazers and an LPF Rising Star is Lottie Bodilly, Senior Account Manager at Ebury Comms.

In the interview that follows, we delve into Lottie’s experiences, shedding light on her journey and need to make the luxury property industry more inclusive and equitable future for the next generation of women.

Lottie Bodilly

Senior Account Manager at Ebury Comms

Lottie Bodilly is a shining example of a rising star in the luxury property industry. Nominated by Emma Dreike, Co-Founder of Ebury Comms, Lottie has flourished in recent months, notably since her return from maternity leave in early 2023. While her PR skills are unquestionable, what truly shines is her business acumen and confidence in identifying new opportunities. Lottie embodies the future of business, and we're confident she'll enjoy a stellar career ahead.

Hi Lottie, so great to have you here today. Please could you tell us about your proudest career moment so far?

Having worked on The OWO Residences by Raffles from the beginning, from the destination positioning we worked on when it was a building site, to seeing the doors open for the first time in September last year was a real career highlight for me. It's difficult to pinpoint a specific moment, but I'm proud of being part of The OWO campaign.

What do you think are the main challenges women face in the luxury property industry, and how can they be addressed?

Unequivocally, women still aren't taken as seriously as men in so many settings within the property industry, especially young women, for so long it's been seen as a male dominated industry with stuffy boardrooms and old fashioned procedures, but we are definitely seeing this narrative change. A large portion of our clients today are actually female-led, and they're being represented by a fully female team at Ebury Comms. The scales are balancing. Maternity leave and pay for women still needs dramatic improvement though in my opinion, across the board, not just in the property industry. The statutory maternity pay mixed with the cost of childcare actively discourages women to return to work after having a baby.

Who has been your biggest supporter, and how have they empowered you?

My team at Ebury are super supportive, we know how to celebrate each other and recognise achievements, plus spending time with strong women (many of whom also juggle childcare) is beyond empowering

Reflecting on your journey, what advice would you give to young women starting their careers?

Always be willing and open to learn, you can never know enough.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future?

I'd love to continue working on landmark developments in London that have the ability to change the face of an area. Being involved from the placemaking stage is something I really enjoy, I'm proud that I was on the team that launched Chelsea Barracks in Belgravia and The OWO in Whitehall, and I can't wait to see how we can support Bankside Yards in Southwark. I'm equally as passionate about working with interior designers, as I will forever be obsessed with flicking through magazines and redesigning my own home, so I'd like to have been instrumental in growing brand awareness for the small and large studios I currently work with.
