Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?
This is a subject of which I am very passionate about and champion representing all females within the construction industry by being a WIC ambassador.
Diversity and inclusion within most industries has largely evolved of which is a real focus within the construction industry and am proud to say has considerably improved since starting out in the industry 20 years ago.
It is hugely important that we support and celebrate with all females across the world to stop and recognise!
Have you faced any challenges in your career as a woman and if so, how did you overcome them?
Unfortunately throughout the early part of my career I experienced challenges where by there were persons who thought that females shouldn’t/couldn’t have a career in construction. If I’m honest this even more so aided the motivation to pursue my successful career and strong reputation within the industry in addition to my internal drive and ambitious side.
Is there another woman on whom you would like to shine a light, in the luxury property industry and why?
I’d like to shine a light on all the successful females that are part of the LPF! We should all be so proud of what we have achieved and fully support each other going forward.
It is so empowering evidently seeing a number of hugely successful females together!
How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in the luxury property industry?
It is vital that we are visible and engage with the young females entering into the industry.
I am a mentor to 3 female construction graduates of which I am their role model that with hard work, dedication and a focused drive you can achieve/progress within the construction world as a female.
What is the best advice you have been given?
You are your own obstacle!
