Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?

I think it is important to celebrate the changes that have happened in recent years that allow women now to work on the same level as men. I think that in architecture and design, we are well ahead of many other occupations.

Have you faced any challenges in your career as a woman and if so, how did you overcome them?

Yes, I have faced many challenges, but mainly at the start of my career. Things were very different indeed 30 years ago!

Is there another woman on whom you would like to shine a light, in the luxury property industry and why?

Yes, I’d like to congratulate Priya Rawal on her amazing achievement in setting up the LPF in such a short space of time, and a period that happened to coincide with a pandemic! She has set up an amazingly professional, inclusive, and helpful group of people with the aim of the positive development of our industry. Thank you Priya for setting up this amazing group for us all to enjoy and benefit from professionally.

How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in the luxury property industry?

By acknowledging that everyone has a different approach to problems and solutions and its not always the person that reacts the quickest or shouts loudest that has the best solution. Forums that allow for more considered communications are beneficial.

What is the best advice you have been given?

No matter how big a problem appears, if you approach the solution in small, achievable, bite sized pieces you will resolve it. Don’t waste time in worrying, put all of your energy into the solution.
