Founding Member Interview: In Conversation with Lee Langley, Principal Mortgage and Protection Adviser at OnPoint Mortgages
1.) Welcome to The Luxury Property Forum! How long has OnPoint Mortgages been around for?
Just over 3 years now. We have been incredibly lucky to have some great people join us in that time and to have worked with some amazing clients and partners.
2.) Have you always worked in the property industry?
My first job after graduation was with a mortgage lender and then I worked for a packager for almost 10 years. We would help specialist lenders to distribute their funds and other brokers to place their difficult of complex lending enquiries.
3.) Can you tell us a little about the mortgage services OnPoint Mortgages provides?
We are a FCA registered, independent and whole of market brokerage. Due to our background in specialist lending we receive a significant number of customer referrals for the self-employed, contractors, property investors, first time buyers, second or holiday homes, high net worth, bridge funding, anyone in need of expert advice.
4.) What about the protection services?
A mortgage is normally the biggest financial commitment that an individual will take on. When arranging the debt we will also advice on how you can protect yourself over the term of the loan via the associated insurances, such as life, critical illness and income protection.
5.) How does the team at OnPoint Mortgages ensure that clients receive the best possible service and outcome?
At the outset we complete a document called a fact find, this enables us to understand you, your requirements and goals. We always look to work with our clients long term as opposed to being transactional in nature, this helps to build a relationship and assists enormously in being able to provide tailored advice.
6.) How has networking for business benefitted you in the past?
Our business has grown almost exclusively from networking, referrals and word of mouth. Building connections with positive and like minded people has been absolutely invaluable.
7.) Can you tell us a little about the charity that OnPoint Mortgages supports?
I was introduced to 88 Bikes via a property developers club that I belong to. They provide bikes to victims of human trafficking, often children. Our team consists predominantly of members with young families so this resonated with us, hence we donate a bike for each completed case we receive via the network.
8.) When you're not busy working, where can you be found?
I have two daughters aged 2 and 7, so I am either at home surrounding by the Paw Patrol and dolls or taking them to ballet or football.
